Ana María Gómez Ramírez

BIOGRAFÍA
Ana M obtained her PhD in 2011 from the University of Granada. After a postdoctoral stay at the University of Bayreuth (Germany), she joined the Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales (CSIC-US). Since 2022, she is Associate Professor at the Department of Atomic, Molecular, and Nuclear Physics at the University of Seville. Currently leads the Add-Plasma Reserch Group. Her current research deals with atmospheric-pressure plasmas (packed-bed reactors, DBDs, gliding arc, microreactors…) for generating valuable chemicals or inducing the decomposition of wastes and contaminants, as well as the understanding and description of the physical mechanisms involved in these processes. Her main research topics can be summarized as follows: – Plasma driven chemical processes. Plasma-catalysis – Atmospheric-pressure plasmas for seed and water treatment – Surface treatment by atmospheric pressure plasma – Design and construction of new plasma reactor with applications in medicine and agriculture
Manuel Oliva Ramírez

BIOGRAFÍA
Dr. Manuel Oliva Ramírez is an Assistant Professor at the University of Seville and a researcher at the Institute of Materials Science of Seville (ICMS). Holding a B.Sc. in Physics and a Master’s in New Materials from the same institution, he earned his PhD in 2016, receiving the Extraordinary PhD Award. His early career was defined by significant international mobility, including specialized research stays at the University of Melbourne (Australia) and in Taipei (Taiwan) focusing on acoustic waves and electromicrofluidics. He further expanded his expertise during four years of postdoctoral research in Germany, developing bio-inspired dry adhesives at the Leibniz-Institute for New Materials and specializing in nanometallurgy at the Technical University of Ilmenau. Currently, Dr. Oliva Ramírez serves as a Principal Investigator (PI), leading cutting-edge research that merges atmospheric pressure plasmas with catalytic applications. His core expertise spans nanostructured thin films, optofluidics, and the integration of piezoelectric acoustic waves, positioning him as a versatile figure in advanced materials manufacturing and plasma technology. Beyond his research, he is a dedicated educator and mentor at the University of Seville, where he teaches General Physics and Plasma Technology while supervising a PhD candidate and several undergraduate and Master’s theses. Dr. Oliva Ramírez is a frequent speaker at international forums, including Keynote and Invited lectures and he also maintains a strong commitment to scientific outreach, regularly participating in initiatives such as the European Researchers’ Night and the Seville Science Fair to bridge the gap between academia and society.
Ángeles López Martín

BIOGRAFÍA
Ángeles López Martín obtained her PhD in Science and Technology of New Materials from the University of Seville in 2022. She later carried out a postdoctoral stay at the Cardiff Catalysis Institute (UK) under the supervision of Graham Hutchings. During this period, her research focused on developing heterogeneous catalysts for H₂O₂ synthesis and their application in fine chemical production and water disinfection, along with extensive work using in situ and operando spectroscopy techniques. Since September 2025, she has been a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow (MSCA-PF) at the University of Seville. She currently leads the REPCO2 project, where her research is centered on CO₂ valorization using atmospheric-pressure plasmas, the design of stable and environmentally friendly catalysts, and the study of catalytic surfaces under plasma conditions through advanced characterization techniques.
Mateo Ruíz Martín

BIOGRAFÍA
Mateo studied a double degree in Physics and Materials Engineering at the University of Seville. During his studies, Mateo specialized in the development of plasma technologies aimed at hydrogen production and nitrogen fixation, with the goal of advancing toward more sustainable and environmentally friendly processes. He subsequently completed a Master’s in Nuclear Physics at the same university, while participating in research projects where he gained experience in mass spectrometry, spectral analysis, and vacuum system assembly. Mateo is currently pursuing a PhD, focused on the development of clean and efficient technologies based on the use of plasmas.
